
Fused glass is a technique where seperate pieces of glass are melted together to form a single shape. Glass has been used in this way for thousands of years. Fused glass can be formed into almost any shape.

The above sculptures were commissioned by The Gorbals Arts Project for a new housing develpoment in Shettleston, Glasgow. Over 80 glass leaves were fused and shaped to form this public sculpture. The creepers are approximately 4m in length and form a striking entrance to this busy city centre street.

This bed is approx 2.5m x 2m, is made from solid Scottish oak and has a fused glass backlit headboard. The bed was made by Alan Cruikshank from a wind felled tree in Mugdock Park near Glasgow, Scotland.
